Migrant Workers Treated Flyer Rides With S’poreans Donate Out Tourism Voucher To Gratitude them
Migrant workers enjoy the view from the Singapore Flyer
The Singapore Flyers has been a distant icon for mostly migrant worker but around 620 migrant workers from dormitories treated with free ride on Sunday, 31 January, this is thanks to those locals who donated tickets redeemed with their SingapoRediscover vouchers. Mr. Maran one of the construction site working in Sengkang who was among the 620 migrant workers from dormitories were so grateful for this opportunity after he has been counting down to this day after receiving his ticket around a week ago.

Some 4,307 tickets have been donated by the public and another 2,871 by an institutional donor in an initiative organized by ItsRainingRaincoats (IRR), Klook and Singapore Flyer. Tickets cost $35 each on the Klook booking site. Where IRR, a non profit which aims to spread kindness to migrant workers said that the drive has been very popular among migrant worker, but the ticket donated out on Sunday were only covered less than 1 per cent of the one million migrant workers here in Singapore.
As since the earlier pandemic started on 2020, a lot of foreign workers were stuck in the dormitory and those who manage to catch the free rides of the Singapore Flyer were so thankful to all Singaporeans, The Singapore Government and also company which has donated out these free tickets.
Senior Minister of State for National Development Sim Ann also mentioned that he is very glad that so many public donors have chipped in and this is really a good way to show our appreciation and recognition of migrant workers.
