The Covid-19 Measure has two new rules which Will Affect the Upcoming CNY Lohei and Music Playing in Public
If you are getting too high during Lohei this CNY, it can get you in troubles
They are new updates rules of the tightened Covid-19 measures during this upcoming Chinese New Year when the new suite of safety rules includes no shouting during lohei sessions, which the act of hollering Huat ah, Lo ah during the lohei is described as emphatic uttering by the lawmakers. The new rules also mentioned that F&B establishment must not permit a umber of activities during operational hours and this is now included “Any verbal exhortation of goodwill or honour or about any other matter (whether or not auspicious or propitious) carried out by a customer or otherwise, accompanied by a ritual (like toasting) in which a drink or any food is offered, taken or handled.” For example: You’re not allowed to emphatically utter auspicious sayings during lohei.
Same goes to the YamSeng toast too
This also means that you aren’t allowed to toast in acclamation during the wedding dinner time of the so called yamseng. Other than this, F&B outlets is not allowed to play sounds that exceeds 60 decibels where usually laughter goes up to 65 decibels while hair dryer can reach about 75 decibels. So don’t forget about the 2 rules changes above. Where celebrating CNY is going to be a total different one this year.
