New Face Mask With Ability to Detect Covid-19 of Wearer By Changing Colour
This all new colour changing strips which can help detecting Covid-19 virus early.
A team at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) has developed a colour changing sticker strip face mask where the sticker could help reveal if the wearer is having Covid-19 by changing the colour of the strips. This sticker strips works in the way where it detects protein cleaving molecules produced from the Covid-19 infection which can be placed on N95 mask, surgical or even cloth mask.
Where the strip will then release its liquid from the blister pack to the rest of the strip once the user remove the mask which the user won’t need to worry about using the test liquid on their face and once the liquid spilled to the strip it will start to change color.
It is just a small devices.
Jesse Jokerst, a professor of nanoengineering at UC San Diego Jacobs Schools of Engineering and lead principal investigator of the project stated that the strips will not replace the standard testing protocols, but it is aim to help to provide simple and affordable surveillance for the Covid-10 infection which can be done easily.
This test is expected to be low cost with few cents per strips, and it is especially useful for those high risk areas such like prisons, homeless shelters and clinics.
It will be an affordable and less expensive options.
