World’s Oldest Orangutan Dies Age 61 at Oregon Zoo
The world oldest orangutan, Inji has died at the age of 61 years old due to her health has taken a hit in the recent weeks, where Inji has been struggling to move and rarely leave her nesting box. The staff at the zoo said that she has been showing barely any interested in food even her favorites too. After showing no sign of improvement, the administrator decided that it would best to humanely euthanize the animal to ease her from her pain.
Inji, who is one of the oldest animal in the Oregon Zoo was put to sleep on Saturday. As it will be sad news for this visitor who has loved Inji in the past. The wild orangutans by more than 20 years in lifespan, but her health had begun to deteriorate in the past few years.
