Notorious S’porean Tenant Who Scam Owner and Refused to Pay Up 17 Months Of Rent plus Tearing Up Legal Letter on the Spot
We all understand that the current pandemic has caused a lot of us unable to pay up some rent or having some difficult financial situation now. But what happens when you have a tenant who has been skipping the rental before Covid-19, and it has started since 2019.
A notorious tenant who is from Singapore has refused to pay up 17 months of rent, which he own the landlord, and he can go as far as ripping apart the lawyer’s letter asking him to move out the moment it was handed to him. The 60-year-old landlord, Mr. He explained that the 67-year-old tenant Shen Tianbao has signed a control in the mid 2019 where they will agree with the monthly rent of $4,000. Despite this, Shen failed to pay a single month of rent after moved into the until and the debt has added up to a total of $70,000 now over the last 17 months.
The landlord, he has filed a case against Shen but due to the pandemic the process was delayed and the court proceeding judging in his favour on the 8th of this month which order Shen to pay up $2,000 in legal fees but as the lawyer handed Shen the letter, the tenant allegedly ripped off the letter on the spot.
The tenant also mentioned that he is the 8th victim. Plus according to Shinmin Daily News, Shen who was 64 years old that time has been evading rent payments from various landlords from early as 2014. At least 7 different lawsuit has been filed against him for evading rent payments.
