Japan Ban All entry from all Countries From Dec 28 Onwards to Curb New Covid-19
In a bid to stop the current spreading of new Covid-19 virus that is more transmissible in Japan, according to Nikkei Asia, now Japanese nationals and resident foreign nationals will only be permitted entry into the country. While temporarily suspending the entry of non-resident foreign nationals into the country.
Nikkei Asia also reported that the government announced this on Saturday, 26 December after the new strain of Covid-19 which was first detected in the UK were also detected in Italy, Denmark, Australia, Germany and the Netherlands. And the ban was announced after seven cases were found similar to the new strain of Covid-19. This temporarily shutdown move will be in effect from 28 December till end of January 2021.
This new variant of Covid-19 virus has 70% more transmissible than the previously dominant strain in the UK as Tokyo has recorded a high of 949 cases of new Covid-19 cases on 26 December alone, which is also the total of the highest daily new Covid-19 cases of all time which is 3,877 new cases.
