Private Drivers and Cabbies To Benefits from Covid-19 Driver Relief Funds
As a lot of taxies and private hire car drivers were facing tough times during the pandemic period as they saw their income plunge down while these drivers may not be covered under other support schemes released by the Government which they only can rely on initiatives like the Special Relief Fund (SRF).
In 2021, there will be great news for them as the Government will continue to support them under a new scheme, according to Senior Minister of State for Transport, Amy Khor mentioned that there will be a total of $3,150 of supports benefits from January to June 2021 next year.
As currently, taxi drivers and private hire drivers get $300 per month under the SRF which already expired in September, now with this new programme, it will give drivers $300 more for 3 months which is $600 a month from January to March, after that they will receive $450 a month from April to June.
With this relief funds, it will be great news to keep on supporting and ensuring all these taxi and private-hire car drivers continuing running!
