London, 27 Arrested After Anti-Lockdown Demonstration Due to Upcoming Christmas
London, which is still under full country lockdown with alert earlier that some citizen might go protest due to the country is still under full lockdown while there is some state which is having a low covid-19 case. On Saturday, some of the protesters appear in the center of the capital as a part of a demonstration across the UK.
In addition, as covid cases are still rising in London, the Rule of 6 still applies for all groups and larger gatherings may be exempted for a certain reason and if a risk assessment has been submitted. While Boris Johnson also reported having held an unscheduled meeting of ministers on Friday aid of the growing concern regarding the threat posed by the current strain in London.
Ahead of the demonstration on Saturday, the Chair of the Met Police Federation, Ken Marsh, said it was expected to be “one of the biggest protests of the year” as most protestors are protesting due to the reason that it is the final weekend before Christmas and some citizen is raging due to unable to celebrate the upcoming Christmas celebration.
