Several Bar and Pubs In Golden Mile Complex Reported Opening Secretly With Shuttered Gate
As of these days where the gathering has been limited to 5 participants and with the latest news which the number will be soon increased to 8 people once Phase 3 kicks in. Where several bars and pubs in Golden Mile Complex reported that they have been operating secretly behind the shuttered shopfront. A large group of people has been reported gathering for clandestine parties at the hidden locations too.
According to the Shin Min Daily, these parties have been taking place behind shuttered shopfronts in Golden Milk Complex and there is a source that mentioned that several bars and pubs in Golden Mile Complex were also hosting parties on their premises since June. And when authorities show up, the operators will just pull down the shutters and continue operating inside.
As another Shin Min reports also mentioned regarding a birthday party which took place at a small bar on the 2nd story of the complex on Monday, 14 December which a 50-year-old woman has allegedly thrown a birthday party for her boyfriend’s birthday and attendees were invited by word of the month and if u have guessed, there were no safe distancing measure, not even wearing a mask and taking their temperature or even sign in with SafeEntry.
However, unfortunately, all these errant residents can’t escape the law which according to AsiaOne, the police have conducted raids at the complex and made multiple arrests for violations of safe distancing measure which in August alone, 6 men and 4 women were fined between $4,000 and $8,000 for breaching the Covid-19 measure after being caught in having an illegal social gathering in a shop unit in Golden Mile Tower.
As we all know it is a tough year for the nightlife industry while another business such as bubble tea shop, cinemas, and restaurants while some nightlife venues like bars, pubs, and nightclubs are still not given permission to operate back but still it is not an excuse to flout the rules and endanger residents. As we have come so far to overcome the outbreak which a small slip and we might have to restart everything again. So if you have friends inviting you to such an event, it would be good to advise your friend not to join and report to the authorities to prevent more of these illegal events from happening again.
