Cheers with Cashless outlets Opens in Our Tampines Hub
The all-new and completely unmanned Cheers convenience store has open in Our Tampines Hub which you can simply access your purchase through the Cheers SG app and add in a visa account as your mode of payment before you are allowed into the store. As without adding the payment mode, all customer is not able to activate the app and enter the store.
This store is monitored by the Intelligence (AI) system in the store which is linked to the app. There are 2 ways to enter into the store which is either facial recognition within the app or scan a unique QR code to enter the store while the app will automatically record the items that customer picks up in a virtual shopping cart and will be automatically charged to their visa card as they walk out of the store.
The camera line in the store has a tracking human behavior with AI element to detect theft as if a person takes a product from the shelf, consume it and put it back the AI system will block the person from entering the stores next time, while the outlets don’t sell cigarettes and alcohol but it is offering 295 types of food and drinks product here.
Currently, only Visa account is available through the Cheers app, and to ease customers into this new high-tech environment, a staff member will still be around to guide customers over the 3 months’ time before it is fully automated. This Ai-enable Cheers outlet in Our Tampines Hub is the first to use this advanced AI system and app. This might be great news for shortages of finding staff to work during the overnight shift.
