Singapore Would Have the World 1st Electric Taxis TO Take Off by 2023
Singapore could have the world 1st electric-powered air taxis by the end of 2023 according to Volocopter GmBH where this German manufacturer is currently developing the take-off craft and they are committed to starting this operation successfully within 3 years once they completed the test flights trials, evaluation, and certification in collaboration with the city-states.
This Electric Taxis will be able to carry a pilot and one customer and in future, it will be developed to be able to carry 2 passengers and it will be autonomous operation in future too where this electric taxi is currently on sale for a 15 minutes trip costing 300 euros (US$364).
These electric-powered crafts are also small and nimble which is able to fly deep within cities and land with minimal space and currently the company is obtaining necessary approvals from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and The European Union Aviation Safety Agency for their flights. These Volocopters are also planning to set up a team of 50 pilots, engineers, and operations to support these Singapore flights and also capabilities in battery research, material science, and route to validate this autonomous operation.
