Grab Will Charge Extra Platform Fee of $0.30 starting from 18 Dec onwards

by Kyle Chen December 11, 2020

Grab Will Charge Extra Platform Fee of $0.30 starting from 18 Dec onwards

On Friday 11 December, Grab has announced that they will start charging platform fees of $0.30 starting from 18 December onwards where this comes as their price-change restriction from the earlier competition watchdog was lifted back in November.

These fees include good and services tax (GST) and will be applicable to all Grab riders with the except GrabHitch and GrabResponse services. This platform fee will also be directed to funding initiatives that make the ride safer, better and secure for both customers and drivers, in which there will be plans on initiatives to support drivers such as benefits, training allowance, and the Medisave match programme.

And previously Gojek has also introduced platform fees of $0.70 back in March while Grab has added a $0.20 platform fee to Grabfood delivery services in late March. So perhaps with this small fees, it isn’t as bad as what we think where safety from Grab and customer of Grab can be secure and providing better riding experience for both sides. So what do you all think?
