UK Warn People That Serious Allergies May Surface due to React from Pfizer Vaccine
The United Kingdom has issued a warning after 2 workers from the country’s National Health Service (NHS) have reported an allergic reaction to the latest Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine on the first few days of administration. Both the workers have a reaction to symptoms such as skin rash, breathlessness, and a drop in blood pressure in some instances.
However, NHS medical director Stephen Powell added that both the workers are now recovering well and they are known to have a history of major allergies and carrying adrenaline pens and according to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has advised that any person with a history of a significant allergic reaction to a vaccine, medicine, or food should not receive the Pfizer BioNtech vaccine. In addition, the MHRA will carry out more investigation into the matter and both Pfizer and BioNTech will support the investigation too.
The FDA also further stated that 0.63 percent of the people in the vaccine group and 0.51 percent in the placebo group reported possible allergic reactions in the trials. However, the allergic reactions are light so it might be showing a sign that this monitoring system may work.
