Japanese government uses AI to help people find their partners Regardless of Age and Income
Whenever we reach another stage of life, most people will start to find someone to communicate with. Recently, there is news that the Japanese government is advancing a matchmaking project to screen matchmaking partners through AI technology.
Matchmaking items are recommended based on the potential fit of both men and women. At present, 25 prefectures in Japan have launched government matchmaking services, and recommendations are made based on the age, education, and income requirements of participants to increase the marriage rate.
In addition, 10 counties including Fukui Prefecture in Japan have introduced AI systems and launched matchmaking services such as “AI Love”. It is reported that if “people who may have a good impression of you” are screened out, even if they do not meet the conditions proposed by both parties, they will also provide recommendations to participants.
It is understood that Japan’s Saitama Prefecture launched a government matchmaking service in 2019, and among 38 couples who have successfully married through the project, 21 have successfully matched through AI recommendation. The cost of AI matchmaking services in Japan will be controlled within 20,000 yen (approximately $260).
It is reported that the number of marriages in Japan has dropped from 800,000 in 2000 to 600,000 in 2019. Therefore, the Japanese government plans to invest at least 2 billion yen (about $29 million) in 2021 to increase the number of marriages.
