Singapore Launch Plant-Based Whole Egg Substitute “OnlyEg” in 2022
With more and more plant-based startups in Singapore where one day there could be a new thriving place for plant-based food industries here and now with the more new high tech startups and plant-based product companies. Where Shiok Meats, a company that produces cell-based seafood, and TrutleTree Labs make breastmilk and cow’s milk in a lab.
And now the newest discovery is where now plant-based egg Substitute, OnlyEg where this plant-based egg substitute actually already can be found in the markets across the world including scrambled egg alternatives which is a new startup in Singapore. And there will be plans to launch this whole egg substitute in 2022.
This will be Asia’s first commercial plant-based whole egg substitute that offers an egg yolk and white replacement which is called OnlyEG which contains legumes which are referring to plants from the bean and pea family.

The egg substitute was developed in Singapore by a research and development team led by Float Foods founder and Chief Executive Officer Vinita Choolani where the local leading research and innovation agencies include Agency for Science, Technology and Research Singapore, Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation, and Singapore Polytechnic Food Innovation and Resource Centre.
The benefit for this OnlyEg is being developed to be more nutritious than a normal chicken egg and also it offers benefits such as:
