Signs Shows That Your Liver is In Trouble and How to Protect It

Do you know that your liver is important to keep you healthy especially by clearing out toxins but as you work it too hard simply by heavy alcoholic drinks, chronic infections, or eating an unhealthy diet for too long it will starts to show signs of its own failure. As the gastroenterologist also mentioned that a person with liver failure is more likely to develop liver cancer. So here are some signs of liver failure.

Fluid Retention

The most common sign of liver disease as fluid may cause distension in your abdomen or swelling in your legs which happens when high blood pressure develops in your liver veins or when your liver is unable to make albumin.

Treatment: a low-sodium diet may help to alleviate the mild fluid retention as for more severe cases, your doctor will prescribe diuretics commonly known as water pills for you.

 

Jaundice

It causes darker urine and a yellowish tint on skin and whites of your eyes where this bilirubin a pigment that forms when red blood cells break down and building up in your bloodstream.

Treatment: if you have jaundice, your doctor may evaluate you for a liver transplant.

 

Bleeding

Your liver cycles about 25% of your blood from the portal vein but cirrhosis will create it as an opportunity for bleeding and you might vomit blood or notice blood in the stool or rectal bleeding. As a healthy liver produces from clotting proteins as a sick liver can’t and it will in results in more bleeding instead.

Treatment: You must consult your doctor if you are vomiting blood or go to the emergency room immediately.

 

Confusion

As your liver unable to filter toxins, they will travel to your brain which in-result hepatic encephalopathy which can cause confusion, memory problems, lethargy, and coma.

Treatment: THe standard treatment is laxative lactulose where it binds into the toxins in our clon and flushes them out before they get into your blood stream.
