Driver Caught Transporting Banana Tree in A Car with 18 traffic summonses including 4 arrest warrants and 10 non-compoundable summons
On 30 November, a driver of a Toyota Vios who actually transported a banana tree placed horizontally across his car rear seat which has like half the tree being penetrated out from the car window and causing obstruction to the opposite or another lane user at Jalan Persiaran Utama, Mutiara Rini, Skudai here at Johor.
The Iskandar Puteri District Police chief ACP Dzulkhairi Mukhtar mentioned that the act was caught on video and went on social media which the 30-year-old local man was issued a summons under LN 166/59 Rule 20 for carrying a load with an improper vehicle, and the vehicle owner who is working in Singapore too.
As the owner’s son who comes to explain the whole situation in his statement at the police station yesterday (Saturday at 8.30 pm) mentioned that the car was driven by his cousin and the banana tree was for a prayer ceremony in Mutiara Rini. And the driver has turned up at Iskandar Puteri Traffic Police Station at 9.30 am yesterday to give his last statement plus the driver has 18 traffic summonses including 4 arrest warrants and 10 non-compoundable summons.
“The driver was taken to the Johor Baru Magistrate’s Court to settle six outstanding summonses amounting to RM1,200,” and currently the Toyota Vios is being confiscated under Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for expired road tax. That is one heck loads of summons from just 1 car, can someone explain what and why do this driver can still exist on the road? It is something very dangerous!!
