Wild Boar Charges Into Woman at Pasir Ris Leaving her a 10cm Long Gash
Okies, we know that stumbling upon some wild boar is a pretty rare scene here in Singapore even if you are walking at some nature reserves and parks. However, a story seems different for a 50-year-old woman who gets rams over by a wild board at Sungei Api Api Park in Pasir Ris on 17 November, Tuesday.
According to Shin Min Daily News, Mrs. Yu was on her way from a walk with her husband at 9.30 pm on 17 Nov when suddenly a wild boar sprang out from bushes and sprang towards her and causing her to be knocked over and fall face down. The wild boar was reported to be around 1.2m long and the tusk of the wild boar somehow caused a gash about 10cm long and 3 cm wide. Mr. Yu her husband then immediately rush her to the hospital and Mrs. Yu has to go through 3 hours of oral surgery and a liquid diet as, during her fall, the bones around her mouth sustained injuries and her teeth were pushed inwards. Mrs. Yu is reported to be fine now!~
NPArks mentioned that wild boars may wander into parks and roads while wild boards are not carnivorous and they may only attack when feeling cornered or they believe their young are getting threatened. So if you encounter a wild board, keeping a distance from their young one is a wise precaution step.
