GRAB is Free to Change it’s Pricing Policies After 2 Year of Freeze Agreement by Consumer WatchDog

With the previous restrictions on Grab’s ride-hailing service charges has been lifted, now the GRAB is free to charge an extra fees of about 30 cents for each ride in the coming months as the Consumer watchdog mentioned that the restriction was lifted following the introduction of a new point to point transport regulator framework has kicked in.

However, Grab in response that with the restriction lifted, they are committed to maintaining the current pricing structure and policies for the last six coming months due to the pandemic. But the new platform fees of its transport services will be rolled out which is important for Grab to maintain and improve safety measures and also covering other relevant operating costs.

Grab was also required to implement several measures to lessen the impact on drivers and riders and also keeping the market open to new players as Grab manages to secure 30% or more of total rides with the UBER out of the market now.
