Monkey Snatch Bubble Tea at Bus Stop!
News shared by the Stomp, where there were these monkeys who don’t just love bananas, but somehow they might have to know our local trend for loving a Boba bubble tea too, as a netizen named Song which happens to saw a thief monkey at the bus stop after snatching away her Koi Bubble Tea from a woman near the bus stop at MacRitchie Reservoir.
In the video, the monkey can be seen sitting on the railing and enjoying sticking his hand inside the cup to slowly enjoy the milk tea treat. According to the National Parks Board (NParks) here is what you should do when you are having an encounter with a wildlife monkey:
- Stop whatever you are doing immediately.
- Remain calm and quiet. Do not make sudden movements and do not maintain direct eye contact with the monkeys.
- Look away and back off slowly. Do not turn away from the monkeys and run.
- If you are holding an object which is attracting the monkeys, conceal or discard it.
- Do not try to hit the monkeys.
- If you have a child with you, put him/her on your shoulders. This will increase your perceived size, which could deter the monkeys from approaching you and your child.
- Keep away from the area until the monkeys have left.
