A Foreign Guest Leaves a Negative Review of a Thai Resorts Gets Jailed 2 Days
A famous resort on the beautiful Thailand island of Koh Chang which is located 300km south of Bangkok after getting a bad review from a resort’s guest and even warned and filed criminal charges against Tripadvisor for recent posting online reviews.
The guest who makes the bad review was even given imprisonment of 2 days by the Thai Government. Who is known as Wesley Barnes from America was arrested and charged under Thailand’s strict defamation law after posting a negative review of the Sea View Resort & Spa@Koh Chang in June where Barnes is an American ex-pat working as a teacher in the country. He mentioned that “the hotel has unfriendly staff and a horrible restaurant manager and no one even cares to smiles.”
So in case, you don’t know, actually Thailand has rather extreme criminal defamation laws which if you are found guilty, you could face imprisonment of up to 2 years and a fine of up to $12,000.
