Jurong East Bus Interchange Relocated For The Jurong Region Line and Jurong East Integrated Transport Hub
The Jurong East bus interchange now will be relocated to the opposite of the current interchange along the Jurong Gateway Road between the junctions of Jurong Gateway Road/Jurong East Street 12 and Jurong East Central 1 starting from 6 December onwards for the new construction of Jurong Region Line and Jurong East Integrated transport hub.
This relocated interchange will continue to operate until the Jurong East Integrated transport hub complete around 2027. A pedestrian overhead bridge, lifts, and escalators are provided across this Jurong Gateway road with a sheltered passage between the bus interchange and train station and there will be an extra new bus stop opposite Jem too.
Here are some updates on the bus services which are:
- 2 bus stops outside BLK 131 and before Jurong East MRT station will be expanded
- Service 97/97e and 197 will enter the bus interchange via Jurong East Street 12 and Jurong Gateway road
- Service 333 will enter via Boon Lay Way and Jurong Gateway road
- Service 78 will start at the bus stop outside Blk 131 and end at the bus stop before Jurong East MRT station
- Service 79 will loop around Jurong East town center via Jurong East Street 12, Jurong Gateway Road, Jurong East Central, and Jurong Town Hall Roa and commuters can board this service at the bus stop outside BLK 131 or outside Jurong Regional library
- Cross Border 3 and Cross Border 4 which is not in operation currently will have boarding for bus pick up and drop off point in Venture Avenue
- A bus berth system will also be installed near the bus park to lower the risk of congestion within smaller interchange space
- Additionally, high volume low-speed fans will also be provided at the concourse area and more facilities to cater to the needs of the elderly will be provided too
- 64 bicycle parking lots will be provided here also
- in the future, this interchange will also have upgraded facilities for public transport workers such as an air-conditioned staff canteen, dedicated staff toilet, and staff lounge.
