3 Pirates Attacks on Ships In Singapore Straits Reported Within 6 Hours
On Nov 8-9, reports of armed pirates attack 3 ships in the eastbound lane of Singapore Strait between Sunday Night and Monday Morning. Which happens within 6 hours on the 3 nearby ships. As none of the pirates was being caught, it is believed that these pirates might strike again, mentioned by the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) Informations Sharing Centre (ISC).
On the 3 attacks, no confrontation between the pirate and the crew and none of the crew was injured. While one ship equipment was stolen, a lifebuoy from another ship and 3rd ship has not suffered any losses. There is 31 attack so far being report in this year.
Patrols and enforcement are advised to increase their patrols and increase coordination and information sharing on this latest situation and criminal group involved.
