7 Guide to Clean off the Mud on Shells in Effective Ways

When it comes to shell’s seafood, some of us just love it so much because it just funs to keep on chunking on them nonstop when we are having some gathering session. Where shells that still have muds on the shells do need to be cleaned before cooking. This is because there is a lot of mud and dirt attached to it. If not washed, worry that it will contaminate your food and cause various health problems such as food poisoning and diarrhea.  There are various natural ingredients that you can use to clean these shells.

SALT

  • Put coarse salt into a basin containing mussels. Add water and soak for 30 minutes and rinse thoroughly. As a result, the shells are not muddy and clean. It is best to use a rough sink.

BANANA STEMS

  • This method is effective for cleaning dirty shells. Take a banana leaf and remove the leaves. Just grab the fronds. If long, cut into 2 parts. Put the mussels into the basin and peel the mussels. Repeat the same steps until the shells look clean.

ASAM GELUGUR

  • Put a few pieces of sour cream into the mussel soak. Leave on for 1 hour and rinse until clean.

LEMONGRASS

  • Tap some lemongrass stalks and place them in a container containing the mussels. Fill the water level with the scallops and mix many times with the lemongrass. Leave on for 20 minutes. Drain water and clean.

COCONUT RESIDUE

  • Coconut waste should not be thrown away just like that. It can be used to clean shells. The trick is to mix the mussels with coconut waste. Leave for 1 hour. The more waste is used, the easier the shells are to clean.

LEAF POTATOES

  • It’s easy. Take a few pieces of sweet potato leaves and shred them. Then squeeze in a container containing shells.

PAPAYA LEAVES

  • Just like using sweet potato leaves. Squeeze the papaya leaves and soak for a while. As a result the shells will be clean.
