Singapore households is expected to pay more electricity tariffs from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2018 where the is a surge up of 2.1% average compared with the previous quarter.
If you’re wondering how much is the increase, this is an increase of about 0.48 cents per kilowatt hour.
Why is this increase? The increase was mainly due to the higher cost of natural gas for electricity generation, energy utilities provider SP Group said on Saturday, Sept. 29.

If you need a good example, the average electricity bill for families living in four-room HDB flats will increase by S$1.76 per month. SP Group said that it reviews the electricity tariffs quarterly based on guidelines set by electricity industry regulator Energy Market Authority.
So be prepared for this price hike for your electrical bill!
