Joggers Concern on Noticing Man Fishing With net At East Coast Park
A jogger who notices a man with fishing new in the waters of Eash Coast Park during the early hours on Thursday (Aug 20) somehow concern. The netizen, Carmen who was jogging in the area around 5 am when she spotted this man. She said that it was her first time seeing people using net fishing which is prohibited here.
Furthermore, she said that net fishing is not healthy for the sea habitat at East Coast Park. Offenders can be fined up to $5,000 for fishing in ‘No Fishing’ areas in NParks-managed parks and up to $50,000 for fishing in nature reserves.
Besides working with other agencies to educate the community to fish only at designated sites, NParks also works closely with fishing communities to promote responsible fishing.
