Prayer Offering Shop Distributes Coupon With Image Of Yusof Ishak Resembling God Of Fortune
As the seventh lunar month is approaching soon, some stores are having promotions to ramp up sales through the distribution of vouchers and coupons. However, a local shop which drew some attention after some netizen finds that the coupon resembled a $10 Singapore banknote and also the image of the god of fortune somehow look similar to the former SIngapore president Yusof Ishak on the coupon.
A long mustache and beard, with ancient Chinese headgear, had been added to transform the man’s visage into what appears to be the mythological figure, the God of Fortune.
However, shop owner 36, mentioned that this coupon was done to draw attention of younger people who are unfamiliar with the traditions of the Hungry Ghost Festival. And the coupon was printed by the store themselves and the material is different from the one used as Singapore Banknotes.
