S’pore May Establish Leisure Travels Green Lane With COVID Safe Countries To Boost Local Tourism
With the planes mostly now are grounded due to the devasting Covid-19 blow to all travel industries. Singapore has built its reciprocal green lanes (RGL) for essential business trips from some countries that are now seeing the chances of implementing this measure for leisure travels.
On Friday (14 Jul), Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung shared that it might be possible for Singapore to consider restarting leisure travel between Singapore and COVID safe countries so that this can improve the situation at Changi airport.
Instead of serving the dreaded 14-day quarantine period, travellers will instead undergo a “rigorous testing regime“.
At the time, these details for leisure travel are still scarce and it might still be a bit risky to such measure and will not open up unnecessarily by the government of Singapore.
