S’porean Man Who Endured Multiple Crisis In Life Release MV About Hanging On Together
A Singapore man who faced multiple crises in his life turned into songwriting as a way to cope. Little he knows that 8 years later he will be releasing a song and music video about his experience. Muhammad Shawal bin Jumari, 30 now shares his story with the local news and hopes to inspire others who are struggling through tough times.
Shawal who was the oldest child to two younger sisters and most people won’t guess that I am a Chinese lyricist and his first language is Hokkien as his father is Malay and his mom is Chinese. He mentioned that his life during secondary school where his family faced crisis after crisis including poverty, eviction, cancer, alcoholism, teenage pregnancy, and infidelity. Where it is so difficult for him to talk in real life so he starts to write the first lyrics to the song to cope with was going on.
