40,000 Migrants Worker Can Resume Construction Work So BTO Projects Won’t Get Stall Again
With the latest news, the construction work will no longer require approval from authorities mentioned by the Building Construction Authority (BCA) on Wednesday (12 Aug). This is due to earlier employers had to get permission before the workers can start working during the Covid-19 period. But now since most of the dorms are cleared from Covid-19, construction workers now don’t need to get a BCA approval to resume work.
This is to benefits the 40,000 workers which will ensure the work on the construction sector can continue back at a normal pace. As Singapore relies heavily on migrant workers in this sector, we also have to ensure that they aren’t put in danger if they go back to work.
Due to the Covid-19 situation and the outbreak in migrant worker dormitories, the construction industry took a giant hit this year.
