Dog Need Blood Donor As Pet Dog Suffer From Rare Blood Infections

A pet owner are asking help from the public due to his pet dog need an urgent blood transfusion in Singapore due to a rare infection. The pet dog which was an Alaskan Klee Kai dog, Ichigo suffers from a blood-borne parasite infection known as Babesia. As this parasite infection, the red blood cell count has dropped to 11 percent and is in urgent need of a blood transfusion.

While waiting, they hope to find doggie blood donors that weigh 25kg and above. These dogs should also have all the vaccinations, are not suffering from any blood-borne parasites, and are preferably blood type DEA+ve, although DEA-ve blood types are also accepted as they are universal donors.

According to the Veterinary partner, a babesia infection occurs when a babesia infected tick bites a dog and releases babesia sporozoites into the dog’s bloodstream and the infected red blood cells are identified and destroyed.
