10 men and 1 Woman Arrested For Illegal Gambling At Mandai Estate
Around 10 men and 1 woman, aged between 18 – 29 were nabbed in an operation which targeting gambling activities along with Mandai Estate on Wednesday (Aug 5). The 11 individuals were arrested after an offence of under the common Gaming Houses act.
The operation was conducted by Woodlands Police Division, and several other gambling paraphernalia were also sezied. Under the Common Gaming Houses Act, any person gaming in public shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 and/or a jail term of up to six months.
The police said they will continue to clamp down on criminal activities such as illegal gambling, adding: “Those found engaging in illicit activities will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law.”
