Who Said Coins Aren’t Real Money LOL, Cute Encounter By Taxi Uncle With 10cent Bag

Sometimes we might have forgotten the values of our valuable coins, where it has proved they’re significant loss of strength nowadays due to paper currency or even those credit cards. But there will still be some people who will be facing these coins opportunity and interested in people from all walks of life.

On July 30th, a taxi uncle named Zaffre has picked up a young teenager from Orchard and she is heading to Bukit Batok. So the whole trip destination during that ride was very fine until things get so cute in the end. When reaching the destination, where she opts for cash to pay the $17.20 taxi fare and the taxi uncle were shocked by the 4 packets of carefully packed coins bag which has been arranged according to the type of cents group and how much in total.

While Zaffre asked why she was paying the fare like this, she just answered that this is all she has. Zaffre did get annoyed because he has to accept the coin and he was unable to count it, but the girl asked him to trust her as the amount was accurate. And Zaffre only manages to count the coins after work at home which took him 10 minutes to do so with the help of his daughter and son-in-law.

Thankfully, the coins added up to S$17 like the girl had assured, despite two of the five-cent coins being of China and Hong Kong currency.

According to a Facebook post by Zaffre’s daughter Liyanah, documenting the rather bizarre encounter, there were many five and 10 cent coins inside the packets.

Liyanah added that although her father had been “pissed”, she applauded the girl for being honest and for “adding some humor to their lives”.
