The 30-year-old biz has launched its new virtual restaurant named it as UbinEats. Here you can find meals such as Ubin Nasi Lemak, Vijay Banana Leaf, Ah Koon Scissor Cut Curry Rice, Ah Ma Chicken Curry Noodles, and Ah Boon Signatures.

  Ubin Nasi Lemak, $15

  The popular nasi lemak with sambals cuttlefish, Ayam bakar, and hard-boiled eggs along with rice cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaves.

  Vijay Banana Leaf, $12

  Named after New Ubin’s longtime South Indian chef, Vijay Sivaganam, the star offering at this ‘stall’ is curry rice on a banana leaf. There will eventually be three types of curries available.

  Ah Koon Scissor Cut Curry Rice, $18

  This bento is loaded with breaded fried chicken, lor bak, braised beancurd, achar and rice, along with a huge heaping of Hainanese-style veggie curry to go with the grains.

  Ah Ma Chicken Curry Noodles, $12

  A mix of yellow noodles and bee hoon go into this bowl, which is then piled with curried chicken, curry-soaked tau pok, sliced okras and a drizzle of thick curry gravy.

  Ah Boon Signatures, from $15

  This virtual stall offers a cai png concept, where you can choose from three types of meat like kung pao chicken, pork chop and a vegetarian mock meat to go with sides such as onion omelette and achar, all served with rice. All well and good, though we can’t help but observe that New Ubin’s modern ‘virtual restaurant’ also comes with, er, modern prices.
