S’pore – M’sia Border to Resume On 10 Aug But Not For Leisure Travel Yet
On follow up with the recent important news, the reopening of the Singapore-Malaysia borders is having good news finally as the date are set on 10 Aug. Singapore’s Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and his Malaysian counterpart Hishammuddin Hussein announced this in a joint press statement on Tuesday (14 Jul).
According to Channel NewsAsia (CNA), both nations have agreed on the 2 separate schemes which are the ‘Reciprocal Green Lane’ (RGL) and ‘Periodic Commuting Arrangement’ (PCA). With this arrangement, now essential businesses and official travels can take place in both countries. Plus, both RGL and PCA travelers will have to abide by Covid-19 prevention measures such as swab tests.
Meanwhile, this means there isn’t any rules allowing for leisure travels for the moment and this is to ensure the safety of all travellers amount this 2 nations which can stay under control under the Covid-19 period of time.
