S’porean Man’s Lost Finger Due To Flesh-Eating Virus After Pricked by Prawn

An unfortunate Singaporean man allegedly got his finger amputated after he got pricked by prawn at the wet market due to there was a flesh-eating bacteria in the prawn.

As we all know, when we goto the wet market to buy fresh groceries or seafood, it is very common to self-pick or chooses for fresh ingredients. But this victim’s who got pricked by prawns during his cleaning and washing the prawns he bought from the wet market. After 1 day, his finger turned black and was running a mild fever.

So he went to a 24-hour clinic in Toa Payoh and then the doctor immediately requestion him to get to the A&E and he has to go thru surgery on the same evening and stayed in the hospital for 7 days with 2 days in ICU.

The reason why his finger turned black is that he was attacked by flesh-eating bacteria which if he waited another day, might lost his whole arm. So, therefore, the victim is advising others to be extra careful when handling this seafood as we don’t know what sort of bacteria will be hiding on these raw prawns.
