S’pore and M’sia Travels Resume With 2 New Arrangement
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Malaysia Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin have come to an arrangement agreement via a telephone call yesterday on 26 Jun. With this new travel arrangements, this will be great news for those who require to travel across the border for work purposes.
The 2 new travels arrangement are:
- Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL)
- Periodic Commuting Arrangement (PCS)
RGL — allows those to travel for business and official reasons between Malaysia and Singapore.
PCA — lets Singapore and Malaysia residents who have long-term passes for business and work purposes to return home every now and then for a short leave.
The residents of both countries now can return home once they have spend at least 3 months consecutively in the country they are working in, and they may re-enter back afterward. However, all travellers must follow Covid-19 prevention and public health measurements. While the full measurement are still being discussed at the moment, with the current RGL and PCA will certainly ease some relief for those who have been waiting for the border crossing to resume.
