Grab Rides Now Raised $1 ride-hailing fares From 1st June 2021, You can use this Peak Hours Voucher for Fare Discounts

With the Covid-19 condition, a lot of sectors have been changed and due to reducing with crowds or customer, where now the upcoming fare has hiked of $1 and due to the heightened measure of reducing passenger count, Grab is now making a move to help their drive partners. In a press release today (25 May), Grab Singapore announced a support program for its driver-partners in light of Phase 2 (Heightened Alert). To help counter this issue, Grab will be increasing its base fare for all transportation services by $1, starting 1 Jun. The following services won’t be affected by this hike:
- Standard Taxi
- GrabHitch
- GrabCoach
Till 30 Jun, this extra $1 will go entirely to the driver so you will be helping them to alleviate their current financial strain. While for the customer who is worry about the higher community cost, Grab also offers from 1 to 14 Jun, they’ll be offering $1 vouchers during peak hours to help offset the higher fares. Grab will also work on other ways to ease their driver-partners financial burdens.
Ride-hailing firm Grab will raise its fares by $1 starting next month to improve driver earnings amid rising fuel and maintenance costs, it said.
With taxi and private-hire car ridership at just 55% of pre-pandemic levels as a result of the Covid-19 phase two (heightened alert) measures, Grab said it will not collect commission on the additional $1 from June 1 to June 30.
This means drivers will get $1 more for every ride they complete with Grab for a month.
To help commuters adjust to the new fares and defray the added costs, Grab said it will offer $1 vouchers for peak-hour rides from June 1 to June 14.
Each Grab commuter will get two vouchers per day, and can use them on weekdays from 7am to 9am and 5pm to 7pm, as well as on weekends from 11am to 6pm.
Among them are:
- Extra incentives for drivers who complete GrabFood, GrabMart & GrabExpress deliveries in high demand areas
- Cash rebates for completed transport & delivery jobs
- Up to $45 rebate/week for GrabRentals
