If you are looking for some eco-friendly hiking shoes then check out the NH500 series of shoes from Decathlon. This shoe comes with affordable prices that start at $60 and it is using recycled materials such as 30 percent of the shoe’s sole is made with recycled rubber-tired and its inner sole is made 85 percent of polyurethane foam.
The shoe’s upper instep and tongue are made from 100 percent recycled polyester whereas its laces and webbing are made from recycled plastic bottles. A totally new manufacturing process had been used to design the sole for the NH500 said Decathlon’s Product Manager, Emmanuelle Francois. The shoe’s EVA sole has two sides, where the harder side is facing the ground and the softer side is in contact with the foot. NH500 shoes come in different designs and colors in both men’s and women’s sizes. Prices start from S$60, although the promo prices start from S$40.
