Good news for those who are staying on the north as you are eligible to ride train for free.
Wah liao eh! Why la? Why so good? What’s the occasion? This is in celebration of the first phase of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) where they will be operational from Jan. 31, 2020 onward and they are offering the free ride for all!
So there will be free travel on TEL for 3 days (from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2). In case you didn’t know, the stations opening that will be opening this end of this month are Woodlands North, Woodlands and Woodlands South. So if you’re at these area, For the first three days of operation, you can ride for free between these three stations.
That’s excellent news for those at the north!
With the opening of Woodlands North MRT station, there will also be a change in route for bus service 856 to connect commuters to the new station.
The whole Thomson-East Coast Line will be fully operational by 2025.
The TEL stations will look different from the rest of the MRT station in terms of their wayfinding signage. What are the difference? There will be some of the new features include larger fonts, sharper colour contrast and improved sign box design. Even the exits are now marked by numbers instead of letters of the alphabet.
