Say no more. Times are tough for the retailer. First it was Sasa and now it’s Home-Fix. Doesn’t seems like a good outlook for this year.
The news is that the local hardware chain Home-Fix has closed all retail stores amidst financial woe. This is as per reported by The Business Times on Dec. 11, 2019.
Guess everyone is going online where most of the items can be purchased from online. With the emergence of e-commerce website such as Taobao and Amazon are here in Singapore, the physical shop are getting harder to compete especially on their low prices.
Fun fact is that this is the Home-Fix’s 26th year Home-Fix has been established in Singapore but also the brand’s last year in retail. They have started just 1 humble flagship outlet in 1993, to a massive 23-store local chain at its peak in 2014, Home-Fix established dominance over its competitors until financial woes set in.
In case you didn’t know, back in March 2019, Home-Fix held its biggest warehouse sale at its headquarter in Taiseng. Later in April, its Compass One outlet was re-entered and repossessed which sparked speculation. Guess it’s a sign that it can no longer tahan and yesterday it’s being reported that it’s officially closing down their final 2 stores in Tampines One & Tanglin Mall
