2 WhatsApp’s New Features That You Need To Know and We would say it’s a good and bad!

by Brian Chan August 15, 2018

If you’re a WhatsApp users, there are 2 new features that you need to know

Believe that this popular messaging app is not strange to anyone of us in Singaoire and there has been numerous update on the WhatsApp’s to meet all the requirement from the end users.

Now they would be rolling out 2 new functions, which 1 is a good and 1 is a bad to us as consumer.

Let’s talk about the good one first.

You can now do a video call with multiple people (something like video conference with multiple people). The maximum participant for this group video call is now set to three people simultaneously thus you can conference 3 people (4 including you) and chat together.

The latest group voice and video call feature, which was announced at Facebook’s F8 developer conference earlier this year, went live on 30 July 2018 for both Android and iOS devices around the globe.

If you want to start the video conference call, you will need to start a new call with one user first. Next, click on the “Add Participant” button at the top-right corner of your screen to individually add more contacts into your current call.

The second new feature (which we see not that good to us as user) is that WhatsApp’s will be showing advertisement to the users. As we all know, Facebook has bought over WhatsApp’s back in 2014 with $22 billion, thus they now would want to make their money back from it. So there is no better way then to selling ads out to the merchant who needs it but to us, the consumer would be very annoying as hell!

As according to Wall Street Journal, WhatsApp also will start showing ads in its popular Status feature next year, following a path carved out by Instagram.

Well if you were to ask, whether it’s bad or good feature, we will still be using the WhatsApp’s as this is the leading messaging apps now that everyone is using in Malaysia!
