Singaporean Say No to Contact Tracing Device As It’ll Lead To Privacy Leak
The Government of The Republic of Singapore proposed a tracing device to counter-battle against this Covid-19 pandemic by Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister-in-charge of the Smart Nation. However, this suggestion got backfired as over 19,000 has signed a petition by disagreeing with this device.
The reason mentioned by netizen is that this device might lead to a loss of privacy, as some worries will their data from smart devices be leaked out to the independent bodies and can the government guarantee that this device will not be a data breach.
You can find the entire statement by The Singapore People’s Party (SPP) on their issued statement on 7 Jun regarding these wearable devices.
