This weekend’s Art + Live | An Ekphrastic Series features poet Amanda Chong.Amanda is a Cambridge and Harvard trained lawyer whose first collection of poetry, Professions, was published in 2016 and shortlisted for the 2016 Singapore Literature Prize. Her works explore themes of gender and power, with her writings appearing in Monocle, The Straits Times, and Quarterly Literary Review Singapore. She also co-founded ReadAble, a non profit that runs weekly English literacy classes for children and migrant women in low income neighbourhoods since 2014, and founding web editor of poetry.sg, the first online database of Singapore poetry, complete with critical analyses and a multimedia archive.
