First Ice Hotel Gallery Has Magical Glowing Ice Sculptures. Get your cosy coats and warm snow boots on, for we’re about to take a trip from the tropics to a frosty winter wonderland.
Certified by the Singapore Book of Records as the country’s First Ice Hotel Gallery Experience, this new attraction at Snow City is a permanent one that you can enjoy even past the Christmas season.
The Ice Hotel Gallery replaces the existing Arctic Snow Playground with snow sculptures of animal characters, but don’t spend too much time mourning its loss, for this brand new experience is one that’s set to be bigger, better, and more beautiful than the previous.
Do note that despite its name, it’s not an actual hotel that you can stay in. Featuring massive sculptures entirely carved out of ice, Snow City’s Ice Hotel Gallery simulates the ice hotels in Nordic countries like Finland, Norway, and Sweden, hence its moniker. There’s also a Hotel Room set-up where you can have a mini “daycation” of sorts.
Channel your inner Snow Queen a la Elsa from Disney’s Frozen as you walk through the icy pathways, with your breath forming puffs in the air as the chill caresses your cheeks.
Across a 17-metre snow field with 5 thematic zones, you’ll get to feast your eyes on ethereal seascapes, a royal ice throne, forests that look straight out of Avatar and so much more – all intricately perfected by local award-winning artist Jeffrey Ng. The clear and semi-opaque ice art looks especially magical with coloured lights shining through them!
Along the way you’ll also spot some local landmarks such as the Merlion, Sentosa Express, and grand colonial buildings.
In order for the sculptures to thrive in our climate, extremely cold temperatures are needed – we’re talking sub-zero temperatures of -5°C. This will give you a much-need respite from our scorching weather. Now you know where to run off and hide during the hottest times of the year, while getting to relive your winter holiday escapades!
Once you’re done touring the mesmerising installations, say cheers with a refreshing glass of craft beer at the Ice Bar.
Tickets to the Ice Hotel Gallery at Snow City are affordably priced from $17, with the option of value-for-money family bundles for those with children. Make your booking through Snow City’s website or via Klook. This experience is eligible for SingapoRediscovers Vouchers redemption.
