McDonald’s Singapore’s popular Hello Kitty soft toys are coming back.
The fast food chain will be releasing six SG50 Hello Kitty plush collectibles as part of celebrations for Singapore’s Golden Jubilee.
These specially commissioned collectibles include a Hello Kitty dressed as a Trishaw Uncle, a Durian Lover and a Samsui Woman. Each week, a new design will go on sale.
Sales will start from Jul 27, 11am onwards at S$5 each with every purchase of an Extra Value Meal. Each customer can buy up to four Hello Kitty Plush Collectibles per store visit.
The first design to go on sale will be the Trishaw Uncle edition, followed by the SG50 Parade, Orchid Lover, Durian Lover and Samsui Woman collectibles. A limited edition Hello Kitty plush collectible dressed as a McDonald’s crew will be available on Aug 6 from 11am onwards.
Customers who do not want the Extra Value Meal can tell the counter crew that they want to donate it to The Food Bank Singapore, under a partnership between McDonald’s and the non-profit group. Food vouchers will be given to the group’s beneficiaries.
Customers can also purchase the entire SG50 Hello Kitty Collector’s Set online. Online sales start on Jul 20, 11am at onlinestore.mcdonalds.com.sg.
Customers are limited to three sets per online transaction while stocks last. The entire set costs S$80, inclusive of GST and delivery, and comes with a Limited Edition Singapore landscape booklet (inclusive of six paper standees and six Hello Kitty cards) and six Extra Value Meal food vouchers valued at S$5 each.
In a news release on Thursday (Jul 9), McDonald’s Singapore also announced a special SG50 ice-cream cone and limited edition SG50 packaging for three food items.
The Love SG50 Cones, which are red in colour, will be available at 50 cents each from Aug 7-9. The limited edition packaging will be for the McSpicy, Twister Fries and Filet-O-Fish and will be available from Jul 23. The design for the limited edition packaging comes with colloquial Singaporean phrases such as “Steady Bom Pi Pi” and ”Shiok”.
