Flipper Singapore is having their Special Deal. New FLIPPER’S Outlet In Singapore Serves Exclusive Menu Items Including Honeycomb And Nut Butter Kiseki Pancake, Matcha Affogato.
Opening its doors today, FLIPPER’s Singapore new outlet at Bugis Junction has a glasshouse-like structure that allows natural light to fill the café.
It also boasts a sleek interior with a yellow and grey theme and features a semi-open kitchen.
The Kiseki (miracle) pancakes are created with artisan precision, producing pillowy-soft, aromatic stacks of soufflé pancakes that boast a light and airy texture.
We tried a few of their outlet exclusive menu items and here are our thoughts.
We started with their seasonal menu item – the Millennial Pancake Strawberry Daifuku ($24.80) – a 2-layered soufflé pancake with french cream cheese, yogurt, housemade strawberry jelly, a generous serving of strawberry cream, and chunks of fresh Chitose strawberries, paired with strawberry mochi on the side. The yogurt in between the layers had a slight tanginess, which in our opinion, provided a nice balance to the hint of saltiness of the Kiseki pancakes. While this dish is on the pricer side, we agree that it’s worth every penny, both in terms of taste and presentation!
Next, we tried the Honeycomb And Nut Butter Kiseki Pancake ($17.80). It comes with 3 Kiseki pancakes topped with snow powder, Canadian maple syrup, and french butter with caramelised walnuts. The crunchy texture from caramalised walnuts complemented the distinct smoothness of the french butter really well.
For those who prefer a heartier meal, go for their savoury options. The Maple Bacon And Fried Egg Kiseki Pancake ($22.80) is served with 2 Kiseki pancakes, turkey bacon, homemade rosti, a Toretama egg, and salad with yuzu dressing. We were especially impressed by their homemade rosti as it had a crispy texture on the outside and was soft on the inside.
Another savoury option to go for would be the Avocado Salmon Kiseki Pancake ($22.80). This dish comes with 2 Kiseki pancakes, homemade rosti, avocado slices, smoked salmon, salad with yuzu dressing, and honey yogurt on the side.
We washed down our meal with two of their thirst-quenchers – the Passionfruit Soda ($7.80) and the Mixed Berries float ($8.80). Check out that lovely gradient!
As the saying goes, there’s always room for dessert! We ended our meal on a sweet note with the Matcha Affogato ($9.80). It comes with 2 generous scoops of Häagen-Dazs Vanilla ice cream topped with a dash of matcha powder, and matcha water on the side. The slight, pleasant bitterness of the matcha balanced out the rich and creamy texture of the ice cream.
Unlike their Takashimaya outlet, this new outlet does not offer takeaway or delivery options yet so you’ll have to head down to have a taste of their outlet exclusive menu items!
