If you are looking to hitch a ride to somewhere near your current location, you might want to give uberX a shot. uberX is the private car transport option in the Uber app, and the ride-sharing company has decided to drop their minimum fare to just $5 (previously $8).
This means that even for short distances, you won’t need to pay anything more than $5 per trip. Uber has line up some examples where you can get a steal of the cheapest rides in town below:
Apart from the minimum fare adjustment this GSS 2015 season, they have also simplified the pricing, offering the same price structure 24 hours a day. Uber states this will offer is only available for a limited time, we are guessing it would end at the same time as GSS finishes up on 26 July 2015.
