Yoshinoya-Tsukimi-Specials-Promotion-New-Spicy-Ontama 21 September 2026 onwards: Yoshinoya Tsukimi Specials Promotion: New Spicy Ontama, Spicy Negitama & Ontama Cheese Gyudon from $9, available at Yoshinoya outlets in Singapore

If a comforting bowl of Japanese beef rice sounds like a good idea, Yoshinoya has introduced something worth checking out this Tsukimi season. From 21 September 2026 onwards, diners in Singapore can try the new Yoshinoya Tsukimi Specials, a seasonal selection that puts a Japanese-inspired twist on their familiar gyudon.

For those who may not be familiar with Tsukimi, the word is associated with the Japanese tradition of moon viewing. Food inspired by the season often features an egg or egg yolk because of its resemblance to the full moon. Yoshinoya brings that idea into its latest menu with three gyudon creations featuring an onsen egg, beef and a choice of spicy, savoury or creamy toppings.

The new range starts from just $9, making it an interesting option for anyone looking for an affordable Japanese meal without having to spend too much. There are three choices to consider: the Spicy Ontama Gyudon, Spicy Negitama Gyudon and Ontama Cheese Gyudon.

Whether the preference is for something with a chilli kick, a fresher onion topping or a rich cheese combination, there is a different flavour direction to explore.

Spicy Ontama Gyudon from $9

The most affordable option in the new Tsukimi range is the Spicy Ontama Gyudon at $9.00.

It starts with Yoshinoya’s familiar gyudon, combining tender beef with rice, before adding an onsen egg and their in-house made chilli oil sauce. The egg brings a soft and creamy element to the bowl, while the chilli oil provides an extra layer of heat.

This could be a good pick for diners who enjoy a little spice but still want to keep things simple. Rather than adding too many different ingredients, the bowl focuses on the combination of beef, rice, egg and chilli oil.

The onsen egg is particularly suited to the dish because its soft texture can help balance the stronger chilli flavours. Mix everything together and the result becomes a richer and more flavourful bowl of gyudon.

At $9.00, it is also the starting point for exploring the Tsukimi Specials without committing to a more expensive meal.

Spicy Negitama Gyudon for $10

For diners who want something with a little more freshness, the Spicy Negitama Gyudon is priced at $10.00.

This version takes the spicy concept a step further by adding green onions to the beef, rice and onsen egg combination. It also comes with Yoshinoya’s in-house made chilli oil sauce, so the spicy element remains an important part of the dish.

The addition of green onions gives the bowl another texture and flavour. The fresh onion topping works alongside the savoury beef, soft egg and spicy sauce, giving each mouthful a slightly different balance.

It is the sort of option that may appeal to people who enjoy toppings on their gyudon rather than sticking to the basics. The combination of beef and green onions is familiar in Japanese-style rice bowls, while the onsen egg and chilli oil give this seasonal creation its own character.

At $10.00, the Spicy Negitama Gyudon is only $1 more than the Spicy Ontama Gyudon, making it another option to consider if green onions are something that usually make a meal more enjoyable.

Ontama Cheese Gyudon for $10

Not everyone wants a spicy bowl, and Yoshinoya has included a creamy alternative in the Tsukimi Specials.

The Ontama Cheese Gyudon costs $10.00 and combines gyudon with a soft onsen egg and a salty four-cheese blend.

Instead of the chilli oil used in the two spicy choices, this version focuses on richer and creamier flavours. The cheese adds a savoury character to the beef and rice, while the onsen egg brings additional smoothness to the combination.

For diners who generally prefer mild, creamy or cheesy flavours, this could be the more natural choice from the seasonal menu. It also offers a different way to enjoy gyudon compared with the traditional beef-and-rice combination.

The four-cheese blend makes this more indulgent than the other two options, particularly when combined with the soft egg. If a hearty bowl is what is wanted after a busy day, this is one of the three Tsukimi creations worth considering.

Three choices, three different ways to enjoy gyudon

One of the more interesting things about the Yoshinoya Tsukimi Specials is that the three bowls are not simply variations of the same flavour.

The Spicy Ontama Gyudon keeps things straightforward with chilli oil and an onsen egg. The Spicy Negitama Gyudon adds green onions for another layer of flavour and texture. Meanwhile, the Ontama Cheese Gyudon moves away from spice completely and focuses on a rich four-cheese combination.

That makes the selection fairly easy to navigate based on personal taste.

Those who enjoy spicy food can choose between the Ontama and Negitama versions. Those who prefer something creamy can go for the cheese option. It also means that groups of friends or family members with different preferences can each choose a bowl that suits them.

Why should diners try this Yoshinoya promotion?

The first reason is simple: the prices are fairly accessible. With the range starting at $9.00, trying a seasonal Japanese-inspired gyudon does not necessarily require a large dining budget.

It is also a chance to try something different from the usual Yoshinoya order. Regular customers who already enjoy gyudon may find the Tsukimi Specials an easy way to change up their meal, particularly with the addition of an onsen egg and new toppings.

Another reason is the variety. There are only three choices, but each one has a distinct flavour profile. That keeps the decision straightforward while still giving diners enough choice.

The seasonal element is another reason to take notice. Tsukimi-inspired food is closely connected with Japanese autumn traditions, and the onsen egg in these bowls fits naturally with the theme. Rather than being just another menu variation, the dishes have been created around the idea of the season.

For anyone who enjoys trying limited-time or seasonal food, that alone can be a good reason to visit Yoshinoya and see what the new range is like.

It is also worth remembering that the promotion information supplied for publication does not specify an end date. The Tsukimi Specials are stated to be available from 21 September 2026 onwards, but diners should check with Yoshinoya for the latest availability before making a special trip, as seasonal menu items can be subject to change.

Which Tsukimi Special should you choose?

The answer really depends on what is normally preferred at mealtime.

Go for the Spicy Ontama Gyudon at $9.00 if a simple beef bowl with an egg and chilli kick sounds appealing.

Choose the Spicy Negitama Gyudon at $10.00 if green onions are a must-have and a little more flavour and texture are wanted.

For something richer and less spicy, the Ontama Cheese Gyudon at $10.00 brings together beef, rice, a soft onsen egg and a four-cheese blend.

Whichever bowl catches your attention, the Yoshinoya Tsukimi Specials provide a reasonably priced opportunity to enjoy a seasonal take on a familiar Japanese favourite. From the $9 spicy option to the $10 cheese creation, there is enough variety to make the menu worth a look.

If Japanese comfort food is already part of the regular dining rotation, this could be a convenient excuse to switch things up. And if the idea of a warm gyudon bowl topped with an onsen egg sounds tempting, the Tsukimi Specials are available from 21 September 2026 onwards at Yoshinoya in Singapore, subject to availability.

As the promotion period has not been given a specific closing date, checking the latest information with Yoshinoya before visiting is recommended. Images are for illustration purposes only, and the availability of individual menu items may vary.
