Corn can be used in a variety of recipes: salad, soup, main dish or dessert. Given the starchy nature of corn, you can easily make chilled corn soup by thickening it with milk, unlike other soups that require whipping cream or cake flour.
[Tip: You can enhance the flavour of the soup by adding butter and soy sauce.]
Other than soup, you can enjoy the natural sweetness of the corn by boiling, steaming or grilling it with soy sauce. Why not try the corn from Hokkaido? Hokkaido is one of the largest corn producer in Japan, which amount to 40% of the total production, followed by Chiba and Ibaraki prefectures. Pure White (white corn), Megumi Gold and Gold Rush are some of the brands of Hokkaido corns, so let us know in the comment if you have tasted it.
